The first thing Kelly said to me when we met for their engagement session was “I’m not very photogenic.” Obviously I think we could all disagree with her. Kelly is INSANELY photogenic! And so, so adorable. I could have taken photos of her and Grant all day. They’re comfortable with one another and they enjoy being happy together. So it’s easy to take their pictures and it’s FUN to spend time with them. I really, really can’t wait for their session. I know Kelly is going to be a beautiful bride and I’m really looking forward to taking some gorgeous wedding photos of this great couple.
What a joy it was to photograph Megan and Adam’s wedding. From start to finish, this couple was filled with grace and happiness.
Megan and Adam planned a beautiful wedding at the stunning White Chapel at Rose-Hulman. A gorgeous and unique backdrop for the many outdoor photos we had planned. But then, rain. All day-long rain. The rain kept us inside and changed our game plan and abbreviated our photos, but Megan and Adam didn’t care. They were just excited to get married and I loved their spirit. Thankfully the rain stopped for just about five minutes to allow us some quick time outside to capture some sweet photos surrounded by the incredible architecture and scenery from the White Chapel.
I can’t thank Megan and Adam enough for their wonderful attitude and excitement for their wedding day. We may not have gotten the hours and hours of beautiful outdoor photos that we had been dreaming up, but the photos we did get were so great. But more importantly, every single person at this wedding had a great time and a big huge, happy smile. It was a real honor to spend the day with so many wonderful people. Congrats to Megan and Adam. You two are truly the best!
Thanks to Abby Hacker for second shooting this wedding and for being the best road-trip buddy.
Rachel and Chris had the sweetest engagement session. The weather was beautiful, Indy looked stunning, and we took photos at locations special to them. From their favorite spots on the canal to the exact bench where Chris asked Rachel to marry him, every single location was one that Rachel and Chris cherish. And I love that about their session. It made the day so personal and it made our time simply awesome.
I also loved this session because Rachel is one of my oldest friends. We lived right down the street from one another as kids. We spent every summer day together at the pool, we slumber partied in her basement and watched more Full House than others probably thought was humanly possible. My favorite part of Rachel’s session was looking through my view finder and watching the sun glisten in her beautiful, red hair. Even though Rachel and I are grown and creating our own families, I’ll always think of us as kids. Because running through the neighborhood with my redheaded friend Rachel will always be some of my very favorite memories.
Oh my. What a beautiful day in Chicago. I’m so thankful for Meredith and Shaun and their invitation to not only photograph their Chicago wedding this summer, but also to spend some time in the windy city for their engagement session. I love going to other cities to get inspired by new surroundings and also to see where my couples are excited to take me. To check out their favorite spots of their home and to explore why they love it so much. It’s obvious that Meredith and Shaun picked out some killer locations for the beautiful day we had together in the city. Check out this incredible session below.
Tammy and Riley are one of my absolute favorite couples. Tammy is my great friend from high school and Riley went to high school with my husband. So we’re over-the-moon thrilled that this favorite couple of ours is getting hitched. Tammy and Riley are getting married at the Landmarks Center and I was so excited to photograph their engagement session right at their venue. It’s beautiful inside and out and I can’t wait to be back there in November to capture beautiful wedding moments for this pair. I’m so thankful that my job allows me to be involved in my friends happiest moments in such a special way. I can’t wait to dance, eat cake and photograph a day full of special memories for Tammy and Riley. Until then, here’s a sneak peek of their engagement session.
Wow! What a way to start off the wedding season-photographing the wedding of two of my sweet friends. Alyssa and Ben are so wonderful and I couldn’t have been happier or more honored to capture the special moments of their wedding. Their wedding was beautiful. Every part of it. Of course Alyssa planned a beautiful day with beautiful decor, but what I loved the most about their wedding was the heartfelt toasts, the excitement of their friends and family, the glow of the bride and groom and the dance floor that was packed all night long. Their entire day was perfect and I know the only thing that will top their special day is the beautiful life together that God has planned for them. Congrats to my friends, Alyssa and Ben. I’m so, so happy for you both!
I loved Betsy and Matt’s wedding. It was beautiful and it was personal and I was so thankful and honored to be there capturing all the lovely moments.
Betsy has a way of making everyone and every moment special. Starting with putting her wedding dress on in her childhood home. Her mom and sister couldn’t stop smiling and when her dad saw her, he beamed. I couldn’t help but think of how much love that room had seen over the years and how many special moments were shared in there. As a parent, I couldn’t dream of a happier room or a happier moment to share with my child.
Together Betsy and Matt are fun and thoughtful and they planned a wedding that was exactly like them. They included everyone in their traditional dances. They requested a group photo with all of their guests. They thanked all their family and friends for celebrating with them. And everyone, truly everyone, was included and made special at Betsy and Matt’s wedding. They’re just a special couple and I’m so, so happy that I was able to share and photograph such a wonderful day. Congratulations to Betsy and Matt. Wishing you so much happiness. Enjoy this sneak peek.
I started off my new year with a January 2 wedding for an incredible couple. Abbie and Tom are one of the most wonderful couples I’ve ever been around. They’re GOOD people. They’re faithful, loving, and nice to everyone. I couldn’t have dreamed of a better way to start 2015 than photographing their happy love.
I always think there’s something so romantic about a winter wedding and this one was no exception. Maybe it’s brides cuddling into their new husbands to escape the cold, maybe it’s the dull overcast that you can almost surely count on from an Indiana January sky, maybe it’s bridesmaids wrapped in scarves. Whatever it is, I’ve really become a sucker for a chilly wedding-and I think these pictures will turn you into a winter wedding fan too.
Congrats to Abbie and Tom on a beautiful start to 2015. I’m thrilled for you both!
2014 was gorgeous. A stunning year personally and professionally and in both ways I’m overwhelmed with thanks. For a cancer free mom, a nearly 2 Judeman, my twelfth New Years kiss with my husband, hard drives filled to the brim with beautiful photos and an upcoming 2015 wedding season that I know will be truly special. I’ll always be thankful for 2014 and the ways God has blessed me. Here’s to a 2014 of stunning photos and a New Year of happiness and blessings.
Wishing you all a beautiful holiday season, a Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year.
